Christine Chew

Christine Chew graduated from Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia with a B.A. in American Literature. Her strong visual background as a photojournalist has landed her credits in magazines worldwide, including Time and People Magazine. Present and past clients include United Press International, MuchMusic, Reuters, the Toronto Star, the Globe & Mail, Samsung and the Canadian Olympic Association. She has photographed events including the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, and two Summer Olympic Games.
An emerging filmmaker, Christine’s first short film FALLING FOR CAROLINE has played in over 50 film festivals around the world, winning Audience Awards in Berne, Switzerland, Rochester, New York and Montréal in 2009. SLOW BURN is her second short and she is working on her first feature CLICK, currently in production in Toronto.

Kathleen Harquail

Kathleen M. Harquail graduated from Trent University with a B.A. (Hons) in Hispanic Studies, and completed the Screenwriting program at George Brown College in Toronto. After twelve years with the Toronto International Film Festival, Kathleen is directing her creative energies towards the production process. SLOW BURN is her second project with Christine Chew and GirlWatch Films, Inc.

Kate Johnston

Kate Johnston (C.A.E.A.) is a producer, director and writer with an extensive background in performing and developing new plays for the Canadian stage, working with such acclaimed companies as Nightwood Theatre, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, and The Caravan Stage Company (international tour). She studied acting for two years with renowned Canadian actress Janet Wright (CORNER GAS) at David Thompson University, and went on to study and teach at the Bruhanski Theatre Studio for the following two years. Kate co-wrote (with Mark Leiren Young) and starred in the play THE OPRAH DONOHUE SHOW, which went on to be a fringe hit, and is published by PUC press. She is a co-writer and producer on Christine Chew’s feature film CLICK, and is currently in development with her own feature film TRU LOVE.
